My name is Andrew James Maunder, and I am a product and experience designer based in Berlin.
My passion for design started during my PhD studies which explored the application of user-centred design methods when designing mobile applications and services for people living in the rural areas of South Africa. It was a thoroughly enjoyable phase of my life and, fortunately, it culminated in several academic publications on the topics of user-centred design and multimedia sharing, as well as a US patent application that I filed with Microsoft Research.
Since then, I have spent the past 12 years using a variety of Human-Centric Design methods to craft digital experiences that delight customers and solve business problems. My work experience covers all phases of the product design lifecycle: user research, concept development, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, visual design, and product testing. I have also had the privilege of working with many talented researchers, designers, developers, and data analysts in corporate and startup environments.
When I'm not designing, I like spending time writing songs and recording music with Ableton Live.
